The Modulator oscillator varies the Carrier's frequency at audio rate.
Ratio sets the modulator frequency relative to the carrier — integer ratios produce harmonic tones; fractional ratios create metallic, bell-like timbres.
Depth (β) controls deviation: at 0 you hear a pure sine; higher values add sidebands at fc ± n·fm.
